This article provides evidence of resources that help both educators and students in the primary grades to fully integrate technology in the everyday setting. The goal of this article is to help educators understand the longitudinal progression that technology has taken in order to become prevalent in the classroom. By understanding how educational networking can enhance learning and help to ignite a passion for learning.
Internet connectivity in tertiary institutions in Africa has been summarized in three characteristics — too little, too expensive and poorly managed (African Tertiary Institutions Connectivity Survey (ATICS), 2006 report). Population comprised of the I.T users, person helping, operating or supervising the I.T tools as planners, academicians, designers, programmers, producers, operators, regional directors and Deans of AIOU. Questionnaire on five point Likert scale was prepared. Collected data was tabulated and analyzed. The main conclusions of the study are: The use of information technology is still limited. Computer net work was not used for distance learners, Radio, T.V programs and relevant audio material, videocassettes were prepared and CDs, software still not in use. University library was not computerized. Staff got training from time to time in I.T Education in their specialization. But there is need to make I.T system more sophisticated according to new trends and students’ needs. There is also need to develop regional centers, which should serve as resource centers to the facilitation of distance learners.

An experimental design was carried out to study the effectiveness in learning of the tenth grade students in Physics, when taught through online and face to face. A mash-up of different online tools and learning environment is used for the study. Website ‘Wiziq.com’ provides these online tools and learning environment hence it is used for the study of effectiveness of online learning on students’ achievement. A high score in achievement among students taught and studied through online tools and online learning environment was found through this research. Similarly achievement among students of face to face teaching was found low, this is because in face to face learning, collaborating and sharing of resources is limited to the walls of classroom, but online learning made possible to learning, collaborating, and sharing of resources beyond four walls. Online learning provides the features such as, user centre, user control and communication, and making teaching learning process learner centric.
