Abstract

This study examines the role of entrepreneurship education in shaping students' entrepreneurial mindset and start-up inclination in Arts and Science colleges in Tirunelveli District. A descriptive research design was adopted, and primary data were collected from 180 students selected through simple random sampling. Percentage analysis and weighted average methods were used for data interpretation. The findings indicate that students perceive entrepreneurship education as highly relevant and equally important as their core academic subjects. Practical learning approaches, including workshops, seminars, guest lectures, and industrial visits, are preferred over conventional curriculum-based instruction. Results further show that entrepreneurship education significantly enhances students' risk-taking ability, creativity, and positive perceptions toward entrepreneurship as a viable career option. However, improvements in resource availability, teaching methods, and confidence-building initiatives are recommended to strengthen entrepreneurial competencies. Overall, the study reinforces the importance of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurial intentions and supporting sustainable career development.
