An Overview of Distinct Sterilization Methods: A Short Review

Abstract

Sterilization of orthopedic implants is crucial to prevent infections and ensure patient safety. Various methods, including autoclave (moist heat), ethylene oxide (ETO), and gamma sterilization, are employed. These methods must be carefully selected to maintain the integrity and functionality of implants. This review paper discuss the overview of different sterilization process methods, risk associated owing to improper use of sterilization, importance of testing, validation, principle, merits, demerits, precaution during use, in depth for medical devices application so that to ensure the safety of patient & standard requirement.
