Efficient Synthesis of Losartan Potassium: An Improved Two-Step Method

Abstract

A highly effective and high-yield synthetic approach for producing Losartan Potassium in two steps is presented. The method begins with Trityl Losartan, which undergoes a reaction with Potassium Tertiary Butoxide in Tetrahydrofuran to yield Losartan Potassium. Subsequently, purification using Isopropyl alcohol results in the production of pure Losartan Potassium.
