Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is evolving in all fields, including medicine and dentistry. It is mostly used in diagnosis, patient management, and minor surgery. A survey was carried out by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, VMSDC Salem, to assess the awareness levels about ArtificialIntelligence among dental students. A validated questionnaire was circulated among 323 dental students. The results were collected and analyzed using SPSS Windows version 25. The response from the participants was positive, with the majority of them stating that AI is the future of dentistry and should be included in the curriculum. It was concluded that the participants had limited knowledge about Artificial Intelligence and its scope. However, when implemented in the academic syllabus, it would allow dental students to explore this new arena.
