Abstract

Anterior crossbite is a term used to describe an abnormal labiolingual relationship between one or more maxillary and mandibular teeth. This occurs as a result of disharmony in the dental, skeletal, or functional components of an orthognathic system. This paper demonstrates some of the advantages of using a pre-adjusted straight wire appliance and an acrylic splint to correct this malocclusion, rather than other conventional methods.
