Juvenile recurrent parotitis (JRP) is a rare disease characterized by repeated episodes of non-obstructive, non-suppurative inflammation of the parotid gland in young children. Various causative factors have been proposed for JRP, including congenital malformations of the duct, genetic factors, viral or bacterial infections, allergies, and local manifestations of autoimmune diseases. Unfortunately, no preventive therapy is currently available for JRP. In this report, we describe a case of JRP that was diagnosed clinically and confirmed by ultrasonography and sialography. To the best of our knowledge, very few cases of JRP have been previously reported from India.
