Abstract

This article discusses the elimination of dispersion using a fiber Bragg grating (FBG). FBG reflects certain wavelengths of light and transmits all others. This is a type of Bragg reflector built on a short length of optical fiber. The modulation format is Non Return to Zero (NRZ). This article uses a NRZ modulation format, analyze fiber optic transmission with increasing length, and then compare these results with optical transmission integrated with a dispersion compensation method. FBGs are used as a key element of optical communication as dispersion compensators. Performance analysis is based on the occurrence of variance for different lengths.
