Abstract

With the rapidly growing technology, people have started finding ways to enhance their quality of life. This paper mainly focuses on the recent trends which are developed for assisting the visually impaired in navigation in both indoor and outdoor environments. This paper analyzed the working methodology, hardware, various algorithms and software tools employed by researchers across the globe to develop cost-effective prototype to assist in the navigation of the visually challenged persons. The devices that are used to help in the navigation of visually impaired people are called Electronic Travel Aid (ETA),and are discussed in detail in this paper.

Keywords
