Child abuse has become a seriousconcern in recent times. Though the issue has always been there, but earlier remained wrapped under the cozy covers of family and relational warmth when children remained silent out of fear and parents didn’t doubt their close ones. Since now children have become more aware of their rights and the parents too remain more vigilant, number of reported cases have increased manyfold. The present paper discusses the ill effects of sexual abuse on mental health of the child and suggests ways to keep a check on this growing menace. ">
