Abstract

The paper analyzes the configuration and performance of the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) routing protocol. The MPLS is the internet service provider network that uses the hub and spoke location for sending traffic with the help of Open Short Path First (OSPF). The OSPF is the best route to implement secure network based on the hub and spoke topology. In this paper, the Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a safe and encrypted connection over a less secured network. Thus it optimizes the performance by reducing latency for communication between sites and promotes end to end connectivity. The proposed OSPF takes only 110 milliseconds to interface the achievable convergence time because it ensures least delay and link utilization. Moreover, the main advantage of the proposed method is that, it is highly secured as OSPF uses the private key for all its functioning and the transmission is also multicast.
