Abstract

This paper contains novel model using feedback neural networks for a work piece temperature prediction. The heat and mass transfer in a porous metal workpiece which is heated by a fire gun is studied. The heat flux distribution is determined by thermocouple connected on the workpiece at definite distances. The gun work piece distance were also change and the temperature distribution and heat flux  were determined. The permeability’s were in range of 0.01-0.15 .The ANN model parameters of the result output were simulated using the ANN parameters The simulation was done using MATLAB 6.0® Neural Network Toolbox.

Abstract

Because of the nonlinear magnetic structure and time varying motor parameters, the traditional controllers like PI, PD and PID are insufficient in Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) control. A strategy of hybrid Fuzzy-PI control for switched reluctance motors is presented in this paper. The strategy of fuzzy logic controller and PI controller is combined to realize the speed adjustment. The hybrid fuzzy-PI controller adopts fuzzy logic control when the speed error is big, and adopts PI control when the error is small. Simulation results indicate that this hybrid control strategy overcomes the steady state error of speed in classical fuzzy controller, and the paradox between the response time and overshoot of speed is managed. This system has a good anti-interference performance.

Abstract

A new approach to solve optimal power flow (OPF) problem in the power system is presented. In the proposed method, a two step initialization process have been adopted which eliminates the mutation operation and also it gives optimal solution with less number of generations which results in the reduction of the computation time. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated for a standard 2-machine, 5-bus system. The obtained results using proposed method are compared with the conventional optimization technique. The results reveal better solution and computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract

Automatic Speaker Recognition (ASR) refers to the task of identifying a person based on his or her voice with the help of machines. It has been predicted that telephone-based services with integrated speech recognition, speaker recognition, and language recognition will supplement or even replace human-operated telephone services in the future. The main aim of this project is speaker identification, which consists of comparing a speech signal from an unknown speaker to a database of known speaker.  The speaker identification is the process of determining which registered speaker provides a given speech. On the other hand, speaker verification is the process of rejecting or accepting the identity claim of  a speaker Results of ASR are highly dependent on database. In this paper, a methodology and a typical experimental setup used for development of corpora for various tasks in the text-independent speaker identification in different Indian languages, viz  Hindi ,English and Gujrati  have been described. Finally This paper describes efforts to create corpora to support and evaluate systems that perform speaker recognition where channel and language may vary.

Abstract

In this paper Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique for obtaining a reduced order approximation of a single-input single-output system based on minimization of integral squared error (ISE) pertaining to a unit step input is proposed. Unlike the conventional method, ISE is circumvented by equality constraints after expressing it in frequency domain using Parseval’s theorem. Some more existing conventional reduction techniques are also considered and compared with the proposed method through a numerical example to show the validity of the proposed method.
