Poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP)-ionic liquid gel electrolytes have been synthesized using ionic liquid 2,3-dimethyl-1-hexylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (DMHxImTFSI) and propylene carbonate. Ionic conductivity of the ionic liquid is 2.47 x 10 power -3 Scm at 30o C and polymer gel electrolytes also possess conductivity of the same order. The dependence of ionic conductivity on the concentration of ionic liquid, polymer and temperature has been studied. TGA/DSC ( studies shows that the polymer gel electrolyte containing ionic liquid is thermally stable upto 100oC.
