JIC_V4_N3_RP3 Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and Dynamic Sliding Mode Control (DSMC) Of Split Range Plant and pH Neutralization Plant using LabVIEW S. Harivardhagini A. Raghuram Journal on Instrumentation & Control Engineering 2321 – 1148 4 3 13 20 Level Control, Sliding Mode Controller, Dynamic Sliding Mode Controller, Split-Range Set-up, pH Neutralization System, LabVIEW This paper deals with the control of liquid level of a split range plant and the pH of a pH Neutralization plant respectively, when subjected to Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and Dynamic Sliding Mode Control (DMSC). Both these controllers are the types of Variable Structure Control (VSC). This is a type of Non Linear Control. The pH plant is subjected to both the controllers and the effect of chattering is observed. The similar action is performed on a split range prototype plant and the effect of chattering is observed in this model also. These two controllers help to identify the effect of it over the final control element. The results are presented and the best controller is suggested. The whole programming is done using LabVIEW software, which is a graphical programming software. LabVIEW software is being widely used in industries and helps to visualise the output in a user friendly method. The interfacing of the hardware and software is done using Data Acquisition System.
