JNUR_V5_N1_CS1 Rehana Ayyub Journal on Nursing 2231–4504 5 1 34 37 Ethical Dilemma, Autonomy, Beneficence, Non-Maleficence and Justice Disclosing truth to the patients is one of the most challenging ethical dilemmas faced by health care professionals around the globe. In many situations the truth can only be disclosed in brutal manner and ultimately it can have a negative impact on the patients' health. The aim of this paper is to discuss the application of four principles proposed by Beauchamp and Childress (2001); autonomy, maleficence, non-maleficence and justice to find a solution for health care professional especially for nurses to answer the patients questions. This case study is presented to compare and contrast the four principles of ethics which is pertaining to healthcare professional dilemmas.
