JNUR_V4_N3_A3 Unmet Health Care Needs Of Disabled Children In Pakistan Nazish Pachani Shaista Rajani Meghani Journal on Nursing 2231 – 4504 4 3 13 15 Disabled Children, Social Barrier, Financial Barrier, Health Care Provider, Child Rights, Health System Framework Disabled children have an unmet health care need than healthy children in Pakistan. This is due to three leading factors; Social barrier, financial barrier, and lack of access to health care services and providers. These barriers are not only affecting child health care needs, but also violating their rights. Access to healthcare services and quality of life require the active collaboration of all relevant organizations at federal, provincial, local and NGO level, along with the participation of family, professionals and communities at large. There is a dire need to address this critical issue to achieve 4thMillennium Development Goals (MDGs) which is still far behind to reduce child mortality rates.
