On the basis of individual values, person cultivates himself/herself and act accordingly in the environment. Nurses’ value system is therefore important to recognize because they are the one who serve patients and give a focused care to them. Nurses need to be self-aware of their own values in order to keep balance between personal values and professional values. Through an internalization of these values nurses can develop self-sacrifice and self-transcendence and divert their care towards patient need.
