It was nearly midnight when Alan Larkin walked out of the offices of Technow in Auckland. The graduate student, seconded on a six-month practism from the university of Ontario, knew that the upcoming week would be a crucial one. Alan's manager, Josh Chan, was back from two weeks of holidays and was expecting results. Compounding the issue was the fact that there had recently been a merger between Technow and Presidium, which were two giants in the high technology industry. He would not, however, be expecting Alan to have completely, reformatted the division's key financial reports and presented them to the general manager without his knowledge. Alan had also pursued two more contacts as part of his aggressive networking strategy, believing it was in the company's best interest.
