A secondary goal was to develop recommendations that will help faculty to better utilize group collaboration as a learning experience for graduate students. Data consisted of interviews of graduate students who participated in a collaborative writing exercise. Four thems related to effective group leadership surfaced during the analysis of data: interpersonal skills, group management, time management and expertise.
