Alicemary Journal on Instrumentation & Control Engineering 2321–1148 3 4 13 19 Voltage Source Inverter, Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) Technique, Proportional Integral Decivative (PID) Controller, PIV Controller, PMLSM In this paper, the authors have proposed modeling of Proportional Integral Velocity (PIV) controller for Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM) drive system in Simulink, the simulation includes all realistic components of the system. The PIV controller is used for position control of this type of motor. The response of PMLSM with the proposed controller is studied under different load disturbances. The effectiveness of the proposed PIV controller is compared with that of the conventional PID controller. The proposed controller is used in order to overcome the non-linearity problem of PMLSM and also to achieve a faster settling response. August - October 2015 Copyright © 2015 i-manager publications.
