JEE_V3_N4_RP5 Vector Controlled Doubly Fed Induction Generator for Wind Energy Applications P.S. Mayurappriyan Jovitha Jerome R. Senthil Kumar Journal on Electrical Engineering 2230 – 7176 3 4 35 40 Modeling, Wind Power Generation, Doubly fed Induction Machine, Vector Control The paper presents the dynamic model of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and its control structures used for variable speed wind energy conversion (WEC) system. DFIG is often a natural choice for electricity generation from renewable energy source. The stator flux oriented vector control algorithm is implemented. The results show that how such a control strategy offers the possibility of controlling the power generated by the DFIG. April - June 2010 Copyright © 2010 i-manager publications.
